Ron Wheatcroft - Management Board Member

Ron Wheatcroft is Technical Manager at Swiss Re Life and Health. He works closely with product providers in the UK and Ireland looking at how regulatory and legislative change will impact on their businesses. He is a principal author of Swiss Re’s Insurance Report and has led Swiss Re’s work identifying and quantifying the Life Assurance and Income Protection Gaps in the UK.

Ron is a regular contributor to events which cover these developments, in particular their impact on the product design, marketing, and distribution of individual and group protection products.

Ron is a member of the Management Committee and a Past Chairman of the Investment and Life Assurance Group (ILAG) He is also a member of the Group Risk Development (GRiD) Regulations Committee which analyses the impact of Government and FSA proposals on employer sponsored group risk business. He has maintained close dialogue with the Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, HM Treasury and the FSA on the practical implementation of pension’s simplification as it affects both individual policies and employer sponsored schemes.
